A Busy Time
I've been busily working away on quite a few different things over the past few weeks. Firstly, I've completed three more commissions and they are now safely residing with their new owners. Secondly, I've been creating some new pieces - mainly glass, but a couple of small sculptures too - for my upcoming exhibitions. The first of these will be 'Gathering', showing in July at Creek Creative in Faversham. Following on very swiftly from this is 'Transition' which will be in place from early August through to early October at Conquest House Gallery in Canterbury. See the exhibitions page for details.
And then I'm also currently working on pieces for an installation titled 'The Red Hot Chilli Pokers' as part of the Godinton House 'Sculpture in the Gardens' show, which happens between 22 July and 13 August. If you don't know Godinton House, then I highly recommend a visit! It's a lovely old mansion just 2 miles from Ashford in Kent (Godinton Lane, TN23 3BP). The house (guided tours available) is interesting and the tea room is lovely. But the gardens are simply magnificent! They've got formal gardens, wild gardens, walled gardens, lakes, ponds, anything you could wish for, all beautifully tended by a wonderful team of both professional and volunteer gardeners. Just a little word of caution - their opening hours are 13.00 to 18.00, so don't try to go along in the morning!
