'Passage' Exhibition : Linden Hall Studio Deal
I’m getting really excited putting the finishing touches to new kiln fused glass works and sculptures for my upcoming exhibition ‘Passage’. It opens on Saturday 7th May, so not long to go now!
I’m exhibiting with three very talented print makers – Helen Brooker, Maggie Kelham and Catherine Robinson. We go way back and have exhibited many times together in the past because, as well as being great friends, we think our work complements each others very well. I’ve seen a few images of prints they will be exhibiting and I think between us we are going to have a really exciting and rather lovely exhibition. It will run Wednesdays to Sundays throughout May, plus Bank Holiday Monday 30th May, when all four of us will be in the gallery for a ‘Meet the Artists’ day. Please, do drop in and see us if you can.
All this is taking place in the Linden Hall Studio, in St Georges Street, Deal. This is a beautiful old building that dates back to 1775. For many years it was a chapel, but it fell into disrepair and it took a four year restoration by current owners John and Heather Corley, to create the fabulous light filled space it is today. It opened as a gallery in November 2014, and is perfect for exhibiting the best of contemporary British Art. Do check it out if you’re ever in Deal, it’s well worth a look.
And if you don’t already know Deal, it’s a great little town to visit. As well as the gallery, there are a number of wonderful independent shops, a pier and a long pebble beach where, if you time it right, you can buy freshly caught fish straight off the fishing boats! And it has many quaint historic old streets which are very pretty. There’s a lot of nice cafes and eateries too, and lovely old pubs, so it has everything you need for a jolly day out.
Hope to see you there!
