Keeping on keeping on!
Well, here we are again - in tier 3 here in Kent now. So not quite a full lockdown, but definitely not normal life either! Happily for me, along with my fellow artists Zel Hunt and France Tetreault, the planned exhibition at the delightful Fishslab Gallery in Whitstable was able to go ahead before these latest restrictions kicked in. And a very enjoyable experience it was!
We had many wonderful conversations with our lovely visitors, and generally had a great time all round. So much so that I’ve signed up to exhibit there again in January. It may seem a tad strange to exhibit in the same gallery again so soon, but the slot happened to be free, and I realised that in the years I’ve been exhibiting, I’ve never held a solo show. This seemed a perfect opportunity to do just that! So - with everything crossed that neither covid restrictions nor Brexit traffic jams will stymie it - have a look at the exhibitions page for details.
I was very pleased to have my ‘Water Lily’ roundel accepted for this year’s Winter Group Show at Linden Hall Gallery in Deal. This show is always a joy to visit, and this year is even bigger and better with 200 works by 150 artists, a mix of established names and emerging talent. With sculpture, painting, drawing, ceramic, print and photography on display there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy. The image shows just a small section of the show. ‘Water Lily’ can just be glimpsed on a plinth in the far left corner by the window - with a red dot on it, I’m thrilled to report! The exhibition is running until January 30th 2021 and I urge you to go and see it if you can. But if that isn’t possible for you, then you can see many of the artworks in the on line exhibition on the Linden Hall Gallery website, so there’s no need to miss out altogether.
And of course, Christmas is just around the corner. We might not be able to be as sociable as usual but nevertheless I hope you all have a very Happy Christmas, and I wish you and your families all good things in a happy and healthy 2021.
Stay safe!
